Wedding Box Card

Today I am sharing with you a beautiful wedding card a friend of mine asked me to make earlier this summer. I was told the wedding colours were pink and grey so that's what I went with and I am so happy with how it turned out. I hope the bride (and groom), but let's be honest here) enjoyed it just as much.

There are some retired supplies used in this project, but I just couldn't help myself. I have made suggestions on what current supplies would be a great substitute.

Ingredients
Stamps: Petite Pairs, Hearts a Flutter (retired, try using Groovy Love)
Inks: Silver
Paper: Smokey Slate, Crisp Cantaloupe (could use blushing bride), Sweet Dreams DSP (try using English Garden)
Accessories: Silver Embossing Powder, Hearts a Flutter thinlits (retired, try using Sweetheart Punch), Stampin' Score Board, Heat Tool

Even though it was a couple months ago, I am still so in love with this card! And so easy to make with the right tutorial.

Happy Stamping,
Elizabeth Emma

My Holiday Catalogue Favourites

Well after taking the summer off to enjoy with my family, I am ready to get back into the swing of things! What better way to start than to share with you a list of my favourites from the 2015 Holiday Catalogue. It was hard not to pick everything, the whole catalogue is chalked full of so many beautiful things. Contact me today to see one for yourself. Or check it out online.

Stamp Sets

1.      Cozy Christmas – page 9 - $33.00 (wood mount) or $23.00 (clear mount). Give your Christmas projects some vintage flair with this gorgeous 8 piece stamp set. It coordinates nicely with the Home for Christmas DSP and other accessories also located on page 9 of the Holiday Catalogue.

2.      Winter Wishes – page 13 - $31.00 (wood mount) or $22.00 (clear mount). This cozy 7 piece set pairs nicely with neutral paper (think Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Whisper White) and hints of some masculine accents (Old Olive Lost Lagoon).

3.      Peaceful Pines – page 17 - $32.00 (photopolymer). This gorgeous 17 piece stamp set includes 8 different designs of Christmas Trees and is made to perfectly coordinate with the Perfect Pines Framelit Dies (buy both together and enjoy a 15% discount). There are so many possibilities with this set!

4.      Wonderland – page 23 - $28.00 (wood mount) or $21.00 (clear mount). This 6 piece stamp set has a very masculine feel so it but can be prettied up with some of the gorgeous coordinating Specialty DSP and Designer Vellum (not to mention metallic and wooden embellishments and of course Washi Tape).

5.      Acorny Thank You – page 45 - $18.00 (photopolymer). This 10 piece stamp set has such a cute element to it! And of course it is made even better with the coordinating Acorn Builder Punch (purchase both together and enjoy a 15% discount). There are so many different options for this set, the perfect fall card or just a cute way to say thanks!

Desinger Series Paper

1.      Home for Christmas DSP – page 9 - $13.75. I love love love this paper! It coordinates with the Cozy Christmas Stamp set and it is just so absolutely adorable, I can definitely see myself buying and hoarding a ton of it! If you’re attending any of my holiday workshops be prepared to see a lot of it.

2.      Winter Wonderland Specialty DSP – page 23 - $16.00. This paper is absolutely beautiful. It has black and white and just the right amount of shimmery gold. It coordinates with the Wonderland stamp set and will add the perfect amount sophistication to your holiday projects.

3.      Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack – page 23 - $12.50. Equally as gorgeous as the Specialty DSP this adds a little extra to your projects, because after all who doesn’t love a little designer vellum.

4.      Into the Woods DSP – page 43 - $13.75. This paper has the perfect little bit of fall to it. It coordinates with the Thankful Forest Friends stamp set but also pairs wonderfully with Acorny Thank You.

Kits

1.      Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit – page 5 - $26.00. This kit has all the supplies to make 30 Christmas Tags for all your gift giving needs this holiday season. And they are so cute! The Oh, What Fun stamp set (also located on page 5, $26.00) coordinates perfectly (hmm, you’d think they did that on purpose). If you attend my December Stamp class we will be making these suckers!

2.      Season to Season Wreath Project Kit – page 6 - $33.25. This kit includes all the materials to make a beautiful 3 with 3 interchangeable banners (Christmas, Halloween and Fall). Such a smart idea, make a beautiful wreath that lasts you 3 seasons by just changing a few accessories. The Cheer to You (also located on page 6, $31.00) stamp set coordinates with this project kit. Why not find a few friends, purchase one stamp set and all get together to make this beauty.

3.      Witching Décor Project Kit – page 7 - $27.25. This kit includes the materials to make one very scary Witch’s Hat Centre piece. The Witches Night (also located on page 7, $32.00) is the perfect addition to complete this project.

4.      Hello December Project Life Bundle – page 37 - $43.25. This Project Life bundle includes a stamp set, card collection and accessory pack. It is the perfect way to preserve your holiday memories or even add to cards.

Accessories

1.      Real Red Pompom Trim – page 9 - $7.50. For Christmas projects, or really projects anytime of year, this stuff is super cute and adds the perfect touch!

2.      Winter Wonderland Designer Washi Tape – page 23 - $6.25. I love anything Washi. I use it on my cards, wrapping my presents and when organizing my planner. Honestly the list is endless.

3.      Red Foil Sheets – page 26 - $5.00. Add the perfect bit of shimmer to your projects, or line your envelopes with this stuff. So pretty.

4.      Reindeer Paper Clips – page 27 - $5.00 Need I say more? Add to your cards, your scrapbooks, or even that stack of boring papers at the office…everything could use a little holiday cheer!

5.      Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder – page 39 - $10.50. This embossing folder is perfect for Halloween or Christmas Cards alike. Changing the colour of your paper and accessories can completely change the look. Try adding a little ink to the folder before embossing for a completely different look.
Well there you have it folks! My favourites. Stayed tuned in the coming weeks for some great projects using some of my favourite items from the holiday catalogue. And don't forget to get your hot little hands on a catalogue and take a peak to pick out your favourite items!

Happy Stamping,

Busy Busy Weekend

We had a busy busy weekend, with Father's Day, Birthday Parties, and Baptisms! Even though I feel like I need a weekend to recover from the weekend, it was so much fun, and so worth it.

On Saturday we went to a super fun Vegas themed birthday party for my lovely sister-in-law, Steph! It was lots of fun getting to visit with everyone and the boys had a blast. Of course a special 30th Birthday, required a special card. Check out the bottom of the post for a list of supplies needed for this card.

On Sunday we went to my cousin, Ryker's baptism. Such a sweet, handsome man, he slept through the entire thing like a champ (unlike Thatcher who screamed through his). Sunday was also Father's Day, so we spent time with our favourite daddies.

The Designer Series Paper I used was left over from sale-a-bration but I think the Sweet Li'l Things or School House DSP would make a lovely addition. Great thing about Stampin' Up! is that everything coodinates. I tend to pick a Designer Series Paper and go from there with picking cardstock and ink. Simple. Simple. Simple.

Happy Stamping,

Friday Favourites

Happy Friday! So happy the weekend is finally here and our daddy is home! However, we have a jam packed weekend and may have overcommitted ourselves just a tad, so I am not sure how relaxing it will be, but it sure will be fun-filled! Here are this weeks favourite things...

Ashley from All I Create made these super cute cards for her kids’ teachers.

Over at Pink Buckaroo Designs Erica created this stunning (and masculine) Father’s Day card.

I am totally loving this Watercolor Wings stamp set and Bold Butterfly Framelits – I cannot wait to get my hands on them. There was a beautiful project in this month’s Stampin’ Success that is what really sold me, it involved this beautiful set and a muslin bag, I cannot wait to recreate it and share it with you all.

Mary from Stampin’ Pretty created this super cute Dino Card. Which I just had to share because I know my eldest son would love it!

Baby Girls Everywhere

We have a lot of pregnant friends right now it seems (or friends that just had a baby), and I feel like a lot of them have been having baby girls. Which is fine by me because being a mom of two boys I love when the opportunity comes along to make and buy girly gifts.

Most recently I attended a baby shower for a sweet coworker of mine and I had so much fun making this dainty, girly card.

A list of supplies for this project is available at the bottom of the post. Unfortunately the "Baby We've Grown" set is no longer available but there are so many great substitutes in the baby category. Check out my website.

Butterfly Sympathy

Again I am slacking in the blogging world, life is crazy but I try to do what I can. Sometimes I can hardly find enough time to even get something made, let alone blog about it. That being said, this one was made a little while ago, but it's so beautiful I just had to share!

If you want to recreate this card, check out the supply list at the bottom of this post! Also be sure to check out the weekly deals, listed just below the supply this for this project.

Throwback Thursday

I thought for a little bit of fun we would do a "Throwback Thursday" here on the blog! I was making cards for the upcoming Vendor's Market I am participating in at Moorefield United Church on Saturday and made this beauty. It's super cute, and "Retro" (hence the throwback).

Ingredients
Stamps: Say What
Ink: Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana
Paper: Calypso Coral, Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Word Bubble Framelits, Retro Fresh Washi Tape

Now remember the "Say What" stamp set, Coastal Cabana Ink (quite possibly my favourite colour of all time along with Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding) and Retro Fresh Washi Tape are retiring so get them while you can by visiting by online store.

Sea Street Thank-You

Ever since I saw the Sea Street stamp set in the Demonstrator Preview of the 2014-2015 Annual Catalogue I fell in love! I had planned to make Gabriel's 2nd Birthday a Nautical themed party and use the sea street stamp set and maritime designer series paper, but unfortunately my mom had her accident and a big, fully decorated birthday was out of the question.

But his year, with my mom home safe and sound and not one but TWO birthday parties to plan, I am going to use them for sure! Gabriel is having a construction themed party (because he is turning 3 and he is totally into that right now) but Thatcher is going to have a Nautical themed party because I still think it is so cute, and he's turning 1 and doesn't have much of an opinion on these things, so I get to choose.

Ingredients
Stamps: Sea Street
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Rea; Red
Paper: Night of Navy, Maritime DSP, Whisper White
Accessories: 1 1/4 inch circle punch, 1 inch circle punch

Sweet but simple, and bonus, it can be used for a man! This is always something I have trouble with, and I know others do too so I hope this helps!

Balloon Birthday Shaker Card

Happy Tuesday Friends! The sun is shining and I think we are finally getting some decent weather back again, woo hoo! A little while ago I finally got my hands on the Celebrate Today stamp set and Balloon Framelits, and I have been having so much fun!

Ingredients:
Stamps: Celebrate Today
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, Hello Honey

I will have this card and more available at the Moorefield United Church Vendor's Market on May 2nd. If you're local come out and visit myself along with a bunch of other great vendors from 10am-2pm. There will be various vendors inside and outside a bunch of yard sale tables! It's sure to be a great day!

The Retired List and Cute Babies

I've been absent for a little while but it has been so gorgeous outside I have been playing with m sweet boys in the sunshine instead of crafting! The weather has turned colder and rainer this week and I have been back in the craft room a little bit. That and some great promotions going on.

DO you know the Retired List was released yesterday? And wow, is it ever big! There is a ton of things on there, some up to 50% off. I always get anxious when I see the retired list because sometimes some of my favourite products are leaving (I don't do well with change). But I have to remind myself (and you if you're anything like me) that it just means there are bigger, better and newer things coming along with the Annual Catalogue release on June 2nd!

Last week I whipped these baby cards up real quick, I made a boy one and a blue one. They're so cute and you can never have enough baby cards around (especially because right now I feel like my friends are having a major baby boom and I love it)! I recently acquired this set and I love it!

Ingredients
Stamps: Little Sunshine
Ink: Blushing Bride, Pool Party
Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, Blushing Bride
Accessories: Heart Punch, Rhinestones, Bakers Twine, Word Bubble Framelits, Sweet Dreams Designer Buttons

Birdal Shower Box Card Invite

I had so much fun making this box card. There are a few different tutorials floating around out there. I found mine on Pinterest (just type in box card tutorial), just pick one that you like and go from there. I liked this one because it folds down and fits in Stampin' Up!'s envelopes.

Ingredients
Stamps: Girls' Night Out, Simply Wonderful (sale-a-bration)
Ink: Smokey Slate, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Memento Ink in Tuxedo
Paper: Coastal Cabana CS, Subles DSP (calypso coral), Whisper White CS, Gold Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Stampin' Up! Score Board, modern label punch, heart framelits (discontinued), dazzling details (on the ring to add some sparkle), 1" circle punch

I tried to take photos from a few different angles so you could really get a feel for it, but it was difficult. It really is much more stunning in person.

Steph's Bridal Shower

My brother in-law is getting married next week and I couldn't be more excited! He has met the most wonderful girl and I feel blessed to call her one of my close friends. It has been so great getting to know her over the past year. She is truly a wonderful match for Kyle, and a great role model for his little girl, I know they will be happy for years to come.

On Sunday we hosted a bridal shower for her at my place. I under estimated how much work goes into getting one of those things ready (especially with two littles running around) but it all came together and I think Steph was happy.

I settled on Calypso Coral, Costal Cabana and Gold for a colour theme. Although, let me tell you that was one of the hardest tasks itself. There are so many great colour combos! Some colours that were a close second were crisp cantaloupe and pistachio pudding. If you don't remember, you can find the blog post with her shower invitations here.

I made the super cute banner using my circle framelits, Big Shot (with magnetic platform) and Baker's Twine. It was super simple and I love the look of it. I only wish I had a little girl so I could hang it in her room. It might end up living in my craft space for now.

For the cups, I used mason jars with Calypso Coral pom-pom trim (which unfortunately is unavailable to order right now) and Coastal Cabana Ribbon (free during sale-a-bration). The straws were from my beloved Target (lets take a minute and shed another tear that it is leaving Canada).

The picks in the cupcakes and other food (please don't judge too harshly, I am a crafter not a baker) were from the stamp set Girls Night Out and I used the scallop circle punch and circle punch to cut them out. With Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral ink and Card Stock.

The rosettes were made using Heather Summers tutorial that I found on Pinterest. I used Soft Subtles, Maritime and Lullaby Designer Series Paper along with Gold Glimmer Paper, Calypso Coral and Coastal Cabana card stock. The buttons are from the accessory package available for FREE during sale-a-bration.

I also made Steph a super cute card to go along with her gift from us, but I will leave that for tomorrow's Blog post!

If you have any questions about how things were made or what products I used please do not hesitate to ask me, I'd love to share!

Happy Stamping,
Elizabeth Emma
